Kucing Yang Saya Idam Mahu Bela...

kucing hutan! Saya sangat teringin mahu bela kucing hutan. mungkin ini kesan tgok APL kot. tp sy tetap suka sebab telinga dia panjang n dia punye saiz lg besar dr kucing biase. sbb tu sy suka. telinga pointed dia plak mcm legolas dalam LOTR.huhu.

tp kucing hutan ni bahaye. penah ada kecoh skali dlm akhbar ckp kucing ni pernah terkam org smpai cedera. lagipun mereka ni spesis yang makin terancam. makin tipis la harapan nk bela. huhu. tp takpe. kalau lepas bebas mereka kat hutan lebih menjamin survival spesis mereka, lebih baik mcm tu...:)

jadi kalau tak pat bela kucing utan, kena bela kucing biasa jah la. aa. sy tak faham. SPCA kate, dont buy pet, adopt them. tp sapa nk bagi sy adopt kucing bengal @ american curl yg cumel2 free je eh? huhu.....kt pet shop tanak 8rat pulak sekor...huhu

pape hal pun, sila tgok pix kucing2 utan...cumelllll

Vote in General Election: Our Power to Uphold

here we go again. I am currently sitting in a forum that is held in my fac. As it is compulsory I brought my ass there to hear.

the forum is all about voting for the upcoming GE, the 13th. Well, talking about GE (general election), would the number 13 be the unlucky number for BN? I suppose it is not.

BN...UiTM.. and the GE. why must UiTM make it so so compulsory to register as voters? why UiTM? and why BN for the GE?

because they three have a very special relationship. It is autocracy. For once and for all. How much BN depend on UiTM, it is dat much UiTM depends on BN. Dat is why, BN really need UiTM students's votes. But would they really vote BN? woo... i cannot answer dat...

As how much BN is doing the 'compulsory' term to register as voters, this is what UiTM compel students for. For good, and for bad. For the sake of UiTM of course we need to vote for BN. but do all UiTM students really care about surviving their own bangsa in UiTM? with so much pressure puts on them by the authority, I am not surprise if UiTM students might hate BN.

from my discussion with my editor, Mike, he said that he did not believe in any either party. UMNO with the corruption, PKR is just about the same, DAP and PAS, though they are honest with their 'perjuangan', but the funny things when they are joining together. aih. hard to say lah. dat's what we call hidup segan mati tak mau la... but i dun really agree with him. it's our voice huh?

so what say you? with the power you have, let's uphold a better country. Better does not mean to change, it could mean to improve. But what could we say with such a single vote? does it really represent power? well, I say yes.

UiTM Towards Royal University Status

By Nor Hidayati Mokhtar

SHAH ALAM: Awesome speech! 2011 would be noted as the premier year for UiTM staffs and students in achieving better performance for the next years to come.

Vice Chancellor for UiTM Yg Bhg Dato Prof Ir Dr Sahol Hamid bin Abu Bakar outlined quite a tremendous number of changes in putting UiTM in the top world stage.

Sensing the need to become Research University in order to reach World Class University, Sahol announced that Shah Alam main campus would gradually become the research based university, which means only Master and Ph.D level of program would be offered.

By doing this he aimed to claim the 'Royal University' status.

"To only focus on Master and Ph. D programs could neglect the teaching responsibility that we already uphold all along.

Thus hand in hand with the branch campuses getting autonomy to become the state campuses, these are the places for our nation to gain opportunity to study," he said.

According to him, the Ministry of Higher Education objected to change the university basic plan, concerned to the limited chances of students to further study in Diploma and Degree level.

"We would never be strayed from our goal to keep on helping the nation (anak bangsa) to study," he exclaimed.

Sahol in his speech also urged the Academic Affairs Department to come out with 200 new programs that are more futuristic in producing better graduates.

During the Amanat, Sahol also announced Vice Chancellor's Special Project (VCSP) and 1Malaysia Love Program.

VCSP is implemented to transform UiTM into a more outstanding university. Through this project, he outlined many steps in molding better UiTM on the world stage.

Among the steps are by introducing the UePMO to check on the projects, curving UiTM name as one of the top world class research university and to organize more on community program via the Student Affairs Department (HEP).

For the Love Program, the upcoming implementations are Sihat Bersama VC in UiTM Stadium and Watching 'Night' Movie with him in the new hall, both would be on Feb 17th, Wednesday.

P.S: well, i'm really touched when he stated that in Malaysia, there are only two IPTs. one is UiTM, the other one is, ETC. =). Bravo Dato!

Photoshoot Yang Ceria

Hari ni saya berpeluang memakai blazer. hehe. kecik tp besy. nmpak hot. haha. plg takleh lupe, abg pixman ckp pic saya solid.

solid tu kira macam ikhlas dan jujur lah. kalau senyum, nmpak betul2 senyum. idak ler buat-buat senyum. dia tak fikir betapa berat tanggungan dalam ati aku. huhu

tp mcm takleh lupa plak abg tu ckp muka auni tidak solid. muka byk masalah. sebab si mahirah suka buli dia kot. saya buli auni? eh. tak penah..... :P

best jugak sebab dah lama tak rase macam satu kelas kan. slalu masing2 buat hal sendiri je. 4 serangkai cara dia. Mak Su 1,2 dan 3 ngan citer korea nye. iera n khairul. syafiq n iz. kakak ngan gile dia. hehe. auni menempel ngan aisya. aida lak macam biskot.

so at least time photoshoot ni la baru leh tgok one whole class bersama-sama. huhu. me? i will miss this moment.

Sekitar photoshoot di masscomm square:

p.s: Hari ni saya tetap tidur dengan lagu It Is What It Is. Another mole in the eye. *sigh*

Lifehouse, It Is What It Is

I was only looking for a shortcut home
But it’s complicated
So complicated

Somewhere in this city is a road I know
Where we could make it
But maybe there’s no making it now

Too long we’ve been denying
Now we’re both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can’t get over it

Nothing to relive
It’s water under the bridge
You said it, I get it
I guess it is what it is

I was only trying to bury the pain
But I made you cry and I can’t stop the crying

Was only trying to save me
But I lost you again
Now there’s only lying
Wish I could say it’s only me

Too long we’ve been denying
Now we’re both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can’t get over it

Nothing to relive
It’s water under the bridge
You said it, I get it
I guess it is what it is

Here it comes ready or not
We both found out it’s not how we thought
That it would be, how it would be

If the time could turn us around
What once was lost may be found
For you and me, for you and me

Too long we’ve been denying
Now we’re both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can’t get over it
Nothing to relive
It’s water under the bridge
You said it, I get it
I guess it is what it is

I was only looking for a shortcut home
But it’s complicated
So complicated

Too long we've been denying, now we're both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can't get
over it

Jadi it is what it is bermakna perkara yang mereka khuatirkan sudah pun berlaku.

Lau tidak, last sekali jadi macam lagu ni lah. It's complicated. So complicated. *sigh*

My First Time Getting the Bylines for NST

Retirement at 60:
70,000 bank employees stand to gain from move

Source : NST dated August 30th, 2010

Huhu. I still remember that day. Crazy. But it was an awesome day though.

I was in the NST news room to do my assignment for Advance Reporting, A Day With A Print Journalist. So I was attached to Azim, one of the journalist there.

But it happened that Mr Daniel was going down to the field, so I followed him. And suddenly Leslie, the NST news editor asked me to help Miss Suganthy and Roy See to gather info.

The story was about retirement age that has been extended to 60. Well, there's pro and cont's about that issue either. By the way, I need to call NUBE Sec-Gen Mr J Solomon. Still I couldnt believe to be talking to him through my phone. Great experience. :)

So there it goes. My byline for the story. The best part is, my info was taken as the lead! Credits to those in the NST news desk. They are awesome. Really awesome. =)

Here how the story goes:

Retirement at 60:
70,000 bank employees stand to gain from move

2010/08/30

By Suganthi Suparmaniam, Roy See and Nor Hidayati Mokhtar
news@nst.com.myShare

KUALA LUMPUR: Local banks and the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) have agreed to raise the retirement age for employees from the current 55 years to 60.

This was one of the matters agreed to at a meeting between the Malaysian Commercial Banking Association (MCBA) and the union earlier this month, NUBE secretary-general J. Solomon told the New Straits Times yesterday.

It is understood, however, that it would be up to the individual banks as to when they plan to introduce the new retirement age as unlike in the public sector, there are no specific provisions on the matter in the law.

MCBA executive director Abdul Jalil Mohamad said the decision to raise the retirement age was a bank’s prerogative and its internal policy. The nine local banks have about 70,000 employees, of whom 40,000 are unionised staff.

Malayan Banking Bhd was the first bank to raise the staff retirement age. Its president and chief executive officer, Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar, announced last week the decision to raise the retirement age for all its management staff from 55 to 57.

On the rationale for raising the retirementage, Solomon said due to the present trend of late marriages, children of workers would not have reached full financial independence by the time their parents retire at 55.

The extended retirement age would allow parents to continue earning to support both themselves and their children.

“Retiring our skilful workers at 55 will also create a vacuum as they can still contribute to the industry.” Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam, in welcoming Maybank’s decision to raise the retirement age of its management staff, said he hoped other banks would follow suit.

He said for private sector companies, it was up to their managements and workers to decide on their retirement age. Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) president Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud said raising the retirement age of workers had been on the agenda of the MTUC for some time.

“We sent a memorandum to the previous prime minister four years ago on raising the retirement age to 60.”

He, however, stressed that any extension of the retirement age should be made optional for the employees.

“Some people may not want an extension after 25 or 30 years of working. They must be given the option of wanting to work longer or leave at 55.

“We are not sure why we stop working at age 55. Singapore’s retirement age is 62 while in Laos it is 60. I think it’s high time the Malaysian government took a look at our retirement age.”

Meanwhile, bank employees have welcomed the move.

V. Gobi, 29, who works in the credit card section in Maybank, said he was happy with the bank’s move as it would mean that he could contribute to the family for a longer period.

Sharing is Giving

Eh. the clock ticks at 4.09 a.m and here I am, still not getting sleepy. Duh. Tomorrow got test ma. huhu... well that's fine lah. I dug my own grave.

Well it happens to my thoughts when talking to my friend about sharing. According to him, it has four extents.
  • the first, sharing is sharing. Whereby you share yours, and you get something in return. In the name of sharing purpose.
  • the second, sharing is caring. That's what so cliche about it. You share because you care. But same thing, you share yours, got something in return. However it could not be in the same kinda thing
  • the third, is sharing is loving which is, the quite dangerous sharing term. Well, we share because we love. of course you would like to share something for the ones you love rite.
  • the last, he said, is loving. eh, where's the sharing gone? huhu. Well I explained more on the term 'love'. for me, the highest extent in sharing is definitely giving. When you share, you care and you love that party, you will tend to give everything. And you won't expect something in return. Won't.

And that is the best way of sharing. Share to give. not to show caring, or only loving but still expecting something in return. Sharing is giving. And this sharing is the plain care and love.

So start sharing and giving!

P.S Ever felt like giving up everything? I had.

New Look for UiTM busses

By Nor Hidayati Mokhtar

Up Up and Away: Dato Sahol marked the launching of the new look for UiTM busses with the flying papermade planes with children from UiTM Kindergarten.

SHAH ALAM: Pleasant look, great seats and conducive rides.

Take a tour around UiTM Shah Alam campus on the brand new look busses and it worth the try.

With the combination of bluish purple and yellow color, two LCD screens television, red carpet and soft curtains marked the rebranding image of the main transport in Shah Alam campus.

“The novelty in terms of look and design is the outcome of innovation in our research,” said Vice Chancellor of UiTM, Dato’ Prof Ir Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar.

According to him, the new design was initially a brainchild from Research Management Institute of UiTM and was commercialized through the Masdef (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

“This new design would also be proudly used in promoting Mengubah Destini Anak Bangsa (Changing the Nation’s Destiny) program,” he added.

Sahol spoke during the double event of launching the new image for UiTM busses and the promotion for Mengubah Destini Anak Bangsa (Changing the Nation’s Destiny) program.

72 units of busses shall be operating all across UiTM campuses in Peninsular Malaysia, 58 ready while 14 are still under manufacturing process in Puchong.

During the launching in the university’s new convention hall on January 17th, Sahol cut the ribbon that was tied across the front door as symbol for the brand new image.

The event was also attended by Masdef (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. Chaiman, Tan Seri Dato’ Seri Mohd Saleh Sulong.

FRIM; where the Green Greens

You may take a walk in a park as the wind blowing and the shady trees canopying you. But a walk in FRIM would never feel the same.

At FRIM, your relaxing tour would be the best moment you could ever had.

The pacifying green, the fresh gentle breeze as it puffs through your senses, the soothing eye catching scenery, the cool shady lulling trees, and the feel that you will be dying to have it once again, all those you can experience at FRIM, the naturest nature experience.

To wander about the FRIM area, to rover through the greenery trail, to stroll through the eye catching views, is a step into the endless heaven.

Canopy Walkway: Up Up and Away

In FRIM there are a lot of outdoor activities that you can enjoy. Firstly is the Canopy Walkway. Why it is called canopy walkway is that the big huge trees would shadow your path through, just like canopy.

Started the journey at the bottom, visitors have to climb the hilling paths at about 5km. It worth the fatigue you would get as after the 5km, you will reach the hanging bridge. Stood at about 6000 feet above sea level, your experience in other hanging bridges could not help you.

With 200m long, this hell-like ride was constructed in 1992 for scientific studies of above ground flora and fauna. It was built 30m above ground level. Now it is open for entertainment.

As to note, I myself felt trembling like a leaf even though already five times experiencing hanging bridges.

The moment you step on the bridge, all the shivers crept through. You can see largest trees as if you have never seen once, were like waving to you. The bird eye view scenery from above was really captivating, with the water flowing here and there and the wind was stronger up up at the higher level.

The hanging bridges have four curved stations, and each station provides space for rest and beautiful scenery. You can see the whole Kuala Lumpur city from there.

Canopy Walkway is available everyday except for Monday and Friday. Make booking latest at 1.30 p.m. with the RM5 charge per head for normal citizen, RM 3 for students and RM 10 for the tourists at the FRIM’s One Stop Centre.

Soaking wet at the Wetland and Picnic Area

So much with the sweats and exhaustion at the canopy walkway, there is nothing more exciting than to throw yourself into the water.

Let your body drift away with the chilly and tender currents at the waterfall. Visitors can have picnics near Sungai Kroh. Two shelters and restrooms are available in the area.

If you are fit enough to climb the stairs alike path at the top of the waterfall level, you can experience the most natural Dr. Fish you could ever had.

As you put your feet to rest near the shallow water at the rocks, flocks of fishes will attack your legs and gave the bittersweet bites that you will never forget. The bites of love. The bites of nature.
Pix:Watch the water dripping setting your
adrenaline rush to the highest extent just to get drown in it

Get green in the Kepong Botanical Gardens

As for the outdoor done, the visitors can visit the Kepong Botanical Gardens. This garden is developed as the center for living plant collections mainly for Malaysian plants, which in other words, are the haven for these species to be evergreen and eternal.

This very unique garden gives research opportunities in botany, horticulture, landscape and other related fields. Plants from the wild will be systematically collected and planted in the garden for exhibits and as the hub for conservation.

Watch the largest collection of the stunning and serene flowers and other plants as they kiss all your pains and weariness of the stone forest life. You will be obsessed just by observing through the colorful petals and thorns of the plants. Horticulture and landscaping education, research and development will be another strong feature of the garden.

Among the activities have been done at Botanical Garden is the tour around the garden for the old folks.

Well, that shall I say about FRIM. Though how beautiful it is, what matters most is what we can absorb from the nature. FRIM may have played their parts in protecting the nature. What can we do is to support them wholeheartedly, not only appreciating the nature at FRIM but to wherever our foot steps bring us to.

"The splendor of FRIM might only be the significant of other nature through the world. It offers such great scenery that nobody can ever doubt the tranquility you can enjoy there. It would be so wasteful to let it washed away by the man’s greed."

As it may sound dreamy, this is what we should fight for. Let the green stays green forever. And what we can do, at least, visit FRIM. You can understand better what I am saying.

jangan sesekali abaikan mentua

sebagai menantu perempuan, n aku pun (insyaallah) bakal jadi menantu perempuan, kita jangan sesekali abaikan (ibu terutamanya) mertua. hoho. mcm serius sangat pulak topik aku.

sebab ibu mertua n menantu perempuan sgt sensitif. tp boleh jadi sangat rapat jugak. :)

tips jaga hati ibu mertua:
  • time die shopping, jangan sesekali bagi dia pegang barang
  • time die shopping jugak, jangan lah kedekut sgt nk hulurkan duit bayar
  • time makan, jangan nk jamu laki je, ingt mertua jugak
  • time makan, jangan tunjuk pandai bila masak, tanya pendapat dia dlu nk masak ape, mintak resipi dan tips kalau boleh
  • jgn memandai-mandai kat rumah mentua
  • jgn tak makan lau dia masak
  • selalu jaga percakapan, dan tahan telinga kalau dia cakap ape
  • selalu bg perhatian apa yang dia nk sampaikan....biasalah, org tua ni makan lagi byk garam dari kita. jgn rasa hebat tanak layan dia pulak
  • yg paling penting, jgn berkira sgt ngan dia... lau mula-mula dia benci kita pun, lama-lama insya allah, lau kita selalu ikut ckp dia, tak berkira dgn dia, Allah tak kejam...:)

Just ingat satu benda, mak laki kita, mak kita jugak. Walau apa pun yang berlaku, hakikat hukum mak dia lagi penting.... sape berani challenge statement aku? dan si anak pulak, bila dah kawin, jangan lupa tanggungjawab pada ibu bapa. diorang bukan nk tagih sgt simpati dari kita. tp redha hidup kita di bawah tapak kaki mereka. tanpa mereka, TIADA kita.

P/S: memang tepuk sebelah tangan tak berbunyi. tapi yang penting, ada tak keinginan nak tepuk tu?
